Peat is relatively nuetral in terms of PH so it wont affect soil PH when mixing in large quantities. It is also a base of most potting soils. Its a good start if your looking to make your own mix. Start with peat and add perlite and vermiculite with a little bit of lime and youll have a super growing medium!
